His feet on the pave it’s a long way home,
With no one else but a rolling stone.
His eyes are tired his thoughts are clear,
He’s close to home but he’s nowhere near.
He kicks the stone with the edge of his toe
It moves real fast it’s all systems go.
I’ve got a secret I keep inside
Though it’s been known I’m not one to hide.
But if this stone rolls down the road,
I’m going to follow it all the way to where?

He reaches home it been a while
He hasn’t been there since he was a child
His distant father is sitting there
His son is home but does he care
His loving mother welcomes him with open arms
But her lying eyes give away all her charms
Finding his room he knows it’s not the same
All its elements have given up the stage
Receiving a smile he knows that it’s all ok
This kid can finally throw all his sorrows away

Another Word For Talent.
|
Illuminated by the white light of the screen,
Keeping it as your candle in a room that’s lacking light.
Surrounded by artistic accomplishment.
It’s a period of observation and wonder in yourself.
The thought that anything’s possible.
Listening to old tapes waiting for the call from genius.
Not spiteful about what you’ve seen but realizing your too late for the prize.
Setting goals that your mind can’t perform.
Taking pen to paper but not making a difference, just following the scene.
But if you could see the frames one by one
You’d see they’re like fingerprints or snowflakes of distinct entity.
But snow doesn’t last forever; it can only stay a little while.
Don’t water your fears and don’t watch them grow, you cant sit in silence forever.
Take them by the roots and cut them of existence.
Stealing peoples nightmares like pirates in the movies
Turn their stories into poems, and poems into compositions
Songs that are soon forgotten like pictures on a wall.
Your mind grows empty so your scribbling faster from worry of forget.
The seconds tick slower but the minutes move louder.
It's a curse thats getting thinner as the letters reach the notepad.
It wont be long now until your story is pieced together from the remnants of napkins.
It's not finished but your coming out with something different.
And you won't go to sleep tonight, and I won't go to sleep tonight.
